Tomatoes at this time of year are not like tomatoes in general. It was as delicious as it looked – what you can’t see is that I’d already taken a bite out of the sandwich when I took the photo.

I got the idea from my friend B. when she took me to Floriole in Chicago – their BLT has goat cheese and some kind of fig jam. It’s perfection.
